Cleaning Water Damage The Right Way

Water damage restoration is a process that should begin as soon as possible after the onset of a water related problem.  The reason is simple; water continues to cause damage until it is treated and removed. And you don’t want to find yourself cleaning mold damage as well due to a failure to act swiftly.flooding-tool-hire.jpg

To clean up after water damage begins with shutting off the flow, if possible.  Find the source of the water and close it or repair it, whatever it takes to stop the inflow.  Cleaning flood damage may be trickier since you have to wait for the flood waters to subside somewhat.

The water will need to be extracted from the damaged area.  This is done using pumps or wet-dry vacs, with secondary drying accomplished through the use of fans, blowers, basically anything that can circulate air.  All surfaces will need to be completely dry to avoid mold growth.

If you find traces of mold, deal with it immediately.  If the growth is widespread, call a professional.  Cleaning mold brings a number of health risks with it, and it is wise to leave it to someone versed in the art of mold remediation.

Water damage repair is somewhat of an exact science, and should be undertaken by those who know how to execute it.  Your local IICRC certified water damage repair company is available 24/7 to serve all your water restoration needs.  Call today for a free estimate.
